REAT, Margaret

DIED. Nov. 13th, at the residence of her son-in-law, Philip T. Ammerman, in Greencastle, Mrs.  Margaret Reat, relict of the late Hugh Reat. The deceased was born in Berkley County, Va., July 6, 1794, and was in the 79th year of her age when death found her fully prepared for her change. Most of her life was spent in Ohio and Indiana. She was married Dec. 16th, 1824, and was the mother of ten children, seven of whom survive her—several of them in this vicinity—one, Rev. A. H. Rent, being a member of the R. W. Ind. Conf. of the M. E. Church, of which church she was a consistent and faithful member for forty years. Her death occurred from disease of the heart, from which she had suffered severely for ninny years, enduring all with true Christian fortitude. The life of the deceased was a beautiful exemplification of the Christian graces and her death the calm and holy triumph which crowns only such a life. Her last audible words were, *Good Father, take me home *to rest," and sweet must be the rest of that home into which she then entered. All suffering and sorrow ended, she " Rests from her labor and her works do follow her.
